Who we are

At Mission Cycles, bikes are our thing - simple as that. We’re a local, independent shop right here in West Auckland, run by riders who just love getting out there. Whether you’re chasing the podium, sending it in the forest, cruising the streets or just need a solid bike to get around, we’ve got you covered. No BS, just good bikes, honest advice and a workshop that won’t judge you (even if you tried fixing it yourself). Swing by, we’ll sort you out!

How it started

Our History

Winding the clock back to 2006, a group of Westies were sick of having to go to Auckland Central or the North Shore to find a bike shop with good service and good products. So a couple of them decided to do something about it. 

That was the start of AvantiPlus Waitakere. With the help of an awesome cycling community and the cycling industry, Jeff and Jakub opened their doors on Lincoln Rd. Instantly, it became clear that they weren’t alone in wanting a quality local bike shop, as riders and enthusiasts came out of the woodwork and brought the shop to life. The shop has always had a unique character to it, a combination of a desire to help people out, a relaxed demeanor and a sheer love of bikes that everyone involved has.

What we do now

Fast forward to 2025 and after nearly 20 years of working within a franchise model, Jeff made the decision to move to a fully independent shop. This brought the opportunity to have our own website, exciting new brands and true independence. All of these things combined to help us complete our mission - to find the right bike for you. 

Mission Cycles was born. The store today is any cyclist's dream. A huge range of bikes, an awesome selection of accessories, with a fully equipped workshop and bike fit area. 

Our name has changed over the years, but our mission has always remained the same.
